Behind in credits because you've moved schools a few times? Some students who have been in foster care, considered homeless, been in juvenile hall, military families, or who have moved here from another county may be able to go onto the state graduation track that helps them graduate on time. I want to take a second and just talk about our State graduation requirements and how they differ from our school in our district graduation requirements so the state of California has a series of laws that are in place to protect students and help them graduate High School who may not otherwise have a chance because of some specific situations so the State graduation requirements sometimes referred to as ab216 or a baby 2306 you might have heard those it goes like this it is a gradtrak for juniors or seniors who might have missed some school and falling behind in their credits because of one of these five situations that's listed here on the screen either you are now or have been in the past in foster care considered homeless and there's a lot of different definitions for that adjudicated youth simply means that you were maybe in a juvenile hall or enrolled in a county school something like that you're in a military family and you've moved around I'm or you've moved here from a different country basically what this is saying is you know when your education isn't as consistent because of these kinds of situations it's more than likely that you falling behind in credits and so those who have missed a lot of their credits you not graduating or dropping out even or requiring just a ridiculous amount of credit recovery the state over our schools graduation requirements and puts you on the State graduation track now the reason that Mountain View High School Mountain Heights Academy San Jacinto High School Hemet High School can all have slightly different graduation requirements is because we're all well above the California minimum but what the State graduation track is it puts you on that California requirement track so basically what that means is instead of needing 200 credits to graduate now you know 530 so it gets rid of one year of English 1 year of math and all of your electives and that can be extremely beneficial to students who have missed out on some schooling so if you feel like this applies to you and could help you same invitation as with everything else just reach out to me I'm happy to talk about it with you and we can fill out the application together it's super simple it's only a page and then we submit it and we usually get a bonds within just a couple of days okay and I know this probably doesn't apply to everybody but I want to present it to everybody because I don't want anybody to slip through the cracks because I I don't know of everybody's situation yet so like I said if this applies to you and you if it helps reach out and we'll talk about it together all right see you in the next video
